Registration Information for The Pinnacle Charter School:

New Students and Parents:

Thank you for considering the Pinnacle as a school of choice for your student. We are a public school and, therefore, we are tuition free*. We welcome this opportunity to offer a quality education in a safe and structured learning environment. Enrollment is open for all public school districts.

*Small tuition for Full Day Kindergarten

Returning students, applications for siblings of currently enrolled students, and applications for children of current Pinnacle employees will be given priority on our grade level waitlists.

 Registration Packets:

2012-2013 Registration Packet English and Spanish  can be printed or picked up at the front offices at either of our buildings. Our main office is located at 1001 w. 84th Avenue, Federal Heights, Colorado (on the Northwest corner of 84th and Huron Street). Our high school is located at 8412 Huron Street, Thornton, CO (on the Northeast corner of 84th and Huron Street). Applications will be available beginning January 4, 2012. Completed applications including requested copies MUST be turned in to the main office at the above address.

Here is a list of copies you will need to provide along with the completed registration packet:

Kindergarten applications MUST have:

A photocopy of your child’s state issued Birth Certificate

 1st through 12th grade applications MUST have:

A photocopy of your child’s state issued Birth Certificate

A photocopy of your child’s attendance report from current school

A photocopy of your child’s discipline report from current school (if no report is

available, you must provide a letter from the current school on letterhead signed by a

school administrator.)

If your child is applying for 1st-9th Grade, include the most recent report card with the

latest grading periods for current year.

If your child is applying for 10th-12th Grade, include a current transcript from his/her

current school.

If your child is applying for 6th-12th Grade, include a letter written by your student

telling us why they would like to attend The Pinnacle Charter School. The letter must

be a minimum of two paragraphs, handwritten, and in the form of a letter. Applications will be

considered incomplete if less than two paragraphs.

 If either of the following applies to your child, you MUST include:

A photocopy of your child’s most recent Legal Guardianship or Custody

documentation

A photocopy of your child’s current IEP

Returning and New Students:

Spring into Next Year!

Open House and Registration Night!

Registration for 2012-2013 will take a different form this year and will begin in April. You will no longer fill out an Intent-to-Return Form and there will no longer be specific dates during August to register your student. Parents will no longer need to stand in long lines to sign up for lunch, pay fees, or sign up for the bus.  Instead, the Pinnacle will host a series of “Spring into Next Year” events by grade in April where you will see your student’s accomplishments from the current year, visit with next gradelevel team for next yearand be given opportunities to register with the Business Office either on-line, via drop box, or in person.

Students will receive class schedules and class assignments at the Spring into Next Year open house.  The following are scheduled dates for each grade level:

Kindergarten – 2nd:   April 23rd, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Event Center Auditorium

3rd – 5th Grades:  April 24th, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Even Center Auditorium

6th – 8th Grades:   April 25th, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Even Center Auditorium

9th – 12th Grades:  April 26th, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. High School

Student Fees 2012-2013:  Student fees will be distributed to each student’s guardian of record during our Spring into Next Year event at the end of April.  Parents will have the option of paying on-line using a credit card, mailing in their payment, or dropping off their payment in one of several payment drop boxes located at the school.  For those parents who choose to pay in cash and want a receipt, staff will be on hand during this time to take your payment.  Only cash payments will be taken by staff in the Business Office.

Fees will be discounted for early payment following the below schedule (does not include transportation or athletics):

20% Off – Payments received by April 30, 2012

10% Off – Payments made between May 1, 2012 and May 31, 2012

If you are currently enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch program, and have given permission to share this information with the Business Office, your fees will be automatically adjusted prior to invoicing.  If you have not given this permission or are not sure, release formsare available on the Pinnacle web-site and at the front office.

 Parents: Make sure to sign a release for us to use your Free/Reduced Lunch Status to adjust your fees! You may pick up a release at the front office.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

How many students do you have per classroom?
Kindergarten classes have 25 students per classroom.
First through Second Grade classes have 27 students per classroom.
Third through Fifth Grade classes have 30 students per classroom.
Sixth through Eighth Grade classes can have up to 30 students per classroom.
High School classes can have up to 29 students per classroom.

Are your teachers certified?
Yes. All of our teachers are certified and their degrees range between Bachelors and Ph.D.

What is the registration process?

  1. You must complete the  and turn it in with ALL the required documents.
  2. When we have an opening for your student you will receive an offer letter. You must return the letter with your signature along with other requested information to complete enrollment for your student.

Is there a tuition that must be paid in order to attend The Pinnacle?
The Pinnacle is a Public Charter School. Therefore, there is no tuition to attend. The Full-Day Kindergarten requires an annual tuition of $2,430, which may be paid in advance for a 10% discount or in 9 monthly installments of $270.00 the first one due in August and each month thereafter through April.

What type of fees are required?
Parents are expected to pay a fee for student planners and possibly fees for class classroom consumables, computers, special classes, etc. Fees for new students are due at the time of registration.

Will the school provide transportation for my students?
The Pinnacle has a fleet of school buses to transport Pinnacle students. Each stop is created based on need. Parents will need to fill out a bus application in order to be considered. Service is provided on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, visit the Transportation web page.
